The visual element is always very important to me. This trip for me is mostly about places that deliver beautiful, bizarre or in any way visually special views. I like to be at a place that is just visually perfect, in whatever aspect. And to take a great picture.
So when I looked at the route before the trip, Sisteron was a destination that seemed so bizarre on the pictures that I doubted it would really exist or look like this. It became one of the most anticipated destinations.
I am talking about all this because today was the day I would go there, starting from my hotel which brought back memories of the motels on the US trip from last year.
For most of the time I cycled on a nice empty road through nature through the hilly territory.
These little fellows have been everywhere since I'm in Provence.
Small villages were built between the rocky hills.
In the early afternoon Sisteron was right around the corner.
It did not disappoint as I stood in awe looking at the surreal rock with the houses in front of it.
It is actually the other side of the river, the main town and the castle were just the position for me to het the great looks.
After spending the whole afternoon around the rock and at the castle, the usual black clouds set in.
I got a very cheap hotel in the South and hurried there, just arriving in time before yet another thunderstorm set in.
After the rain was gone, I chilled on the balcony to close out the day.
