Day 19: Camping and kayaking at the Traunsee

Still most of my stuff was wet from the day before, but I was able to continue. The day began cloudy as I waved through the always present mountains.

It was a much tougher ride to Bad Ischl as expected because it was going uphill all the time for more than 30 kilometers.

The reward was the Kaiservilla in the park that put me right into the Sissi movie memories.

Even more amazed I was when I discovered the spot of the movie scene which I remember very well, and it looked pretty much the same!

It was equally satisfying as the locations from the "Stand By Me" movie I had visited during my US trip last year in Oregon.

Now the sun was out while I was crossing the beautiful lake section, here on the bicycle path along the Traunsee.

The town of Traunkirchen was equally nice.

As I liked the views of the lake so much and football games were on, I decided to stay at a very nice campsite where I could watch and kayak on the lake between the games.

Sitting in the sunshine with this great view, I could hardly believe that I had been staring down a cliff in the pouring rain with my equipment lost exactly one day before.

That's life. You have to hang on in bad times and enjoy the good times.
