As I had spent the night just in front of Mainz, I entered the city early for a good breakfast near the Dom.
Unfortunately the center was full of cars and construction sites because there was the big city event for the next four days.
Out of Mainz I followed the Euro-Radweg R6. It looked like this for most of the time, but I was glad about finally riding on a smooth surface.
Just as I began to be bored about the never changing surrounding, two groups of five helicopters flew right over my head.
Do I have to be worried? I'm not getting much of the news these days.
When I was about to pass Worms I decided to have a look at the city which claims to be one of the oldest in Germany. I was hoping to get some great looks, but to make it short, it was just ugly. There is not even one picture I would present here.
Instead I passed an idyllic baseball field when I left the town.
The route took me through Mannheim, so I had to cross the Rhine over this bridge.
When I entered the outskirts of Mannheim, I ran into this circus scenery with funny animal combinations.
The people were enjoying the start of their weekend.
There was this endless trail leading away from the center that was very comfortable, because it was all straight and made leaving the town much easier than I had expected.
Behind Mannheim nature started quickly.
Soon I found this perfect camping spot.
The day had mostly been a transfer and the race between Mainz, Worms and Mannheim for the ugliest city ever, which Worms won easily.
The next day will lead me further to the south. I have been invited to watch the Germany soccer game and spend the night at a customer of my former workplace.
Actually I still work there officially, so it still is a customer!
