Leaving Ardèche in the morning, I tried to take a route in the flat area a little more South to get to Cevennes National Park.
Still it was a little hilly, but a very nice and quiet road.
At times I went away from the road to see more of the nature. There I found a few people at the shore, painting a picturesque bridge scenery.
Surprisingly, it was a friendly German from Frankfurt giving painting lessons during his short stay in the area.
In Alès I wanted to readjust my messy brakes before entering the mountains. The team of BIKE CULTURE ALES was very friendly and set up everything perfectly for a very good price.
The Cevennes began soon after and it was still flat for some time while cycling along the river.
Just before the real climb began, I stayed on a campsite, with my tent right next to a trumpet tree.
I will need a very good breakfast tomorrow when I will go up 600 meters.
