Day 32: Plitvice Lakes

Our host Franje did everything to make Kabi and me feel comfortable and shared everything with us. Kabi and I will keep him in our thoughts.

At the first opportunity we had an extended breakfast.

We had only 30 km to go and on the way we already got an impression of what to expect at the Plitvice lakes.

Inside the park we enjoyed the look of the water and the little waterfalls.

After walking the lower section we cycled up to the higher lakes. The park is kept very natural and even the central places still give you the feeling of nature.

We took a small boat to go over one of the lakes. There were not many people any more, so we steered towards a waterfall and decided to swim in the lake.

It was an amazing place to be as we swam in this beautiful scenery and even took a shower under the waterfall!

Completely refreshed we walked the very beautiful and diverse upper section.

We had spent an amazing day and got out of the park very late.

As darkness set in we had no idea where to stay. Kabi asked a farmer if we could stay on his field, and he immedialy showed us a nice, protected area around the house. We have experienced amazing hospitality all over Croatia.
