Day 37: Best ice cream ever in Triest

Under the beautiful tree I enjoyed breakfast before I left Rijeka.

To leave the city, I had to climb from the center at sea level up the hill. It was tough, but a nice section with lots of green, little houses and a more relaxed atmosphere were an interesting experience.

Soon I was already into Slovenia which I would cross quickly to get to Italy.

Although I only spent an hour in the country, I was able to get a perfect spot to rest from the tough uphill ride.

It just went downhill from here back to sea level into Triest. Immediately I liked the flair of it.

The heat and the fact that I was in Italy made me go for ice cream. How lucky I was to find this place of Oggi Gelato where I found Tiziano and the best ice cream I ever had.

Tiziano told me about the flavours and I tried many of them as they all were amazingly tasty. His Pulcinella, orange with small chocolate pieces, has recently won him a contest.

My bicycle needed some repair and again I ran into an excellent shop to get quick help.

For the rest of the day I roamed around the center.

In the evening I sat at this small restaurant up high above the city.

It was tough to climb back up the hill to reach the campground, but the great food with friendly people ended this night perfectly at this place beyond the pines.
